Junior A Hurling Championship 2024

Trust me the dogs on the streets know this everbody following the gaels know it .they came on against ballyhooley and changed the game the 4 players that aint good enough to be on are miles off it and hondagaels knows it aswell.
Crazy so because usually a managers ego will get the better of him because he wants to win and he'll put on the best players available regardless of anything else

The match report said they lost Darren O Connor to a "serious ankle injury" he's a pacey corner forward and I thought the depth of the team was going to be the beating of them in Duhallow. He's a big loss. There full forward is very good, Tómas Howard. Was MTU's standout player a few seasons ago, 2-4 from play against Newmarket is serious going
The depth could still come back at them but there was some fight in them yesterday and well deserved win. Lost two more players in the week of the match and Conor O'Callaghan is playing injured and one of the two subs who came on tore his ACL a few weeks back. Tomás was excellent as usual and his scores would make for some highlight reel.

Was it Coyn who did the ACL? Was surprised to see he only came on as a sub

Coyne did ACL as far as I know in challenge football game a few weeks ago. Came on with 15/20 mins to go I think.

It must also be mentioned that more or less all of Dromtarriffes main players Callaghan, Howard etc are playing with long-standing inhibiting injuries. They were also far from convincing in previous championship games this year against Millstreet, Castlemagner and Kilbrin. All games they’d win convincingly a few years ago. It seems like they saved their best performance for final while it was the opposite for Newmarket.

You're correct about Coyne. Came on and got two points and made a great catch from a puckout, something not many of the other forwards can do.

They're also missing Tomás' brother Seán who went to Australia last year but he should be returning soon

Looks like the Gaels underestimated Killavullen and all the excuses are coming out now, it’s the same every year all talk and no action out of them I’ve yet to see any management hit a ball wide if the management are as bad as made out why are they there is it 3/4 years? Perhaps the players are not as good as they think they are?

Harbour Rvs are the best team in Avondhu the last few years results show that and Kilshannig second best when they have everyone available

Everyone writing off Dromtarrife after Newmarket beat them for the first time in a couple of years last year a lot of their main players Callaghan and Howard won’t be at peaking age for another few years going by the programme both were down a few key players on Sunday they now have a difficult path in the county they will have to turnover Avondhu (prob Harbour) and Imokily (prob Carraig presuming they beat Whitechurch) to reach a final but are capable of it

On the other side the winners of Tracton v Balinascarthy will have to beat Ballinora to reach the final, you can’t rule out any of the teams above not winning their division but it’s looking strong in their favour

There should be a cut off date of the second Sunday in September for all divisional finals and give the teams a chance to play in somewhat decent surfaces and weather, have the county final on the last weekend of October there’s very few of those clubs have floodlit pitches adding more cost first of all and then your begging neighbouring clubs to use their pitch most might end up training on astro a 1hr session in PUC is ONLY €210
