Carbery situation is turning into a farce - just after hearing Barryroe are now going looking for access to the DRA, taking on the decision of Cork Co Board & the West Cork Board, and seeking a postponement of this weekends quarter finals, less than 48hrs away from them - horrendous situation for the 8 clubs & their players that have qualified to be in considering that they have absolutely nothing to do with the issue at hand.

Rubbing salt into wounds by dragging the Barryroe members down to that meeting.

Don’t see the purpose of it seeing as the appeal was rejected.

Carbery board made a mess of this by allowing Bandon play remaining games however I think they reached the right outcome. Understand the frustrations from Barryroe
What I’m hearing from my colleagues down West, the main issue is over this email sent out to all club secretaries in Carbery only 4 weeks ago - point 7.

Sorry ya it should be a playoff going by that
That rule no longer exists since 2020 AFAIK - the new rules that cover group games in a c'ship came in then and interestingly are the very same rules that Barryroe have operated at/under in Intermediate hurling for the last couple of years btw...it is amazing they 'thought' it would be different for football or at the very least carry out some due diligence and fire off an email to clarify the matter before the game took place...there is an obvious answer to the above...

Infairness based on the screenshot shown they have a right to appeal. Looks like it should of been a play off.

Right to feel hard done by

Barryroe threw away their game against Timoleague after conceding two late goals. They played keepball against Tadgh Mac in the last few minutes instead of pushing for more scores. Only themselves to blame really, but the way Bandon conducted themselves was also very very poor.

Carbery Board and the Cork County Board are on the same page so Im not sure if the DRA will change the original decision. The real losers in all this is all the players from the 8 clubs who now dont know when their games will go ahead...

Agreed

There is no rule to rectify what happened, that is why the County Board rejected the appeal and the West Cork Board subsequently chanced their arm trying to force Caheragh and Argideen into agreeing to some sort of play off - complete cowboy stuff.

Hope the 8 clubs gone through get themselves organised as a group and fight fire with fire - the mess is not of their making and not theirs to fix.
