Jesus lads, 'tis looking like BREXIT!

More of the same.

Spent the last two months reading how bad the the Tories are, corrupt etc and they are but Kier's top donor is dining at the Downing Street table.
I think this place should stick to Irish politics as their grasp of UK and American politics leaves a lot to be desired.
Do you think Starmer is just going to ignore the guy after he's elected? If I put substantial money in to get a guy elected prime minister, I'd expect a bit of grub in Downing Street. He's not giving him multi billion pound contracts for a service he's never provided before, from a company that has heretofore existed only on paper.

The Brexit reality just keeps getting worse :

TalkTV with Isabel Oakeshott, partner of Richard Tice (deputy leader and primary financier of Reform)?

I don't think I can bring myself to watch that.

It'd be no great loss if untaxed super rich people left the UK. Happens every day anyway, they'd just be moving their declaration of tax residency and spending a bit less time in the UK.

Isabelle is the first woman I think of when I hear that a posh accent gets you the perception of intelligence..

She's ike the femal JRM

I once considered declaring myself as a non dom in the UK, was planning on splitting my time between Germany and the UK. Basically would have my domicile in Ireland, would have to avoid spending more than ~180 days a year in Germany and technically employ myself in Cyprus, to enable access to stuff like healthcare in both countries. Nobody would have been entitled to charge me income tax, so long as I didn't bring the income into the UK, would have parked it in Jersey and shifted £10k a year to the UK directly, with other income via capital returns, which are taxed with decent tax free thresholds depending on investment.

Decided not to go with that accountant's scheme but was perfectly legal at the time and variants are still legal with £60k annual charge. Saves the super rich an incredible amount of tax.

Britain is a massive facilitator of legal tax evasion via schemes like this, both via London's financial district and the various crown dependencies, it's absolutely right Labour are cracking down on it.
