He's not.

England is a right wing country. Starner pushing Labour to the right is exactly what's needed to win an election. The 2019 landslide election was as much an explicit rejection of Corbyns version of labour as it was Boris's success with " get Brexit done".

The Corbyn left of the party would prefer to win the argument than to compromise with reality in order to win power. That's Starmer's real strength.

He's also under promising with one eye on the next election
