They can't be much of a "friend" if they damned him for wearing a Poppy in remembrance of all his fellow Irish men who perished in the First World War.

I doubt if his near family would damn him.

And as for his former neighbours - Fuck them!

I keep seeing you referring only to WW1 in relation to wearing the poppy.

You do understand that it's in memory of ALL British and Commonwealth servicemen and women who died since 1914?

Regardless of what position you take on this, your knowledge of what it represents seems lacking.
