We should take them in and with the agreement of the french we send them back to France so that they can get the boats again to the UK. After a while they would get fed up and go somewhere else.

That is a very good idea, there are a fortune of ferries now operating between here and France so it shouldn't be too expensive

The latest poll conducted by Amarach research found 79% of people believe the number of immigrants arriving in Ireland is "too high", versus 2% who say it's "too low". 64% say "the government isn't in control of immigration to Ireland," while just 20% disagree.





This tallies with last months Sunday Independent poll.

Its going to a major issue in forthcoming elections. Simply brushing off public dissatisfaction with the shambolic government handling of this issue wont cut it anymore.

Trying to excuse their own ineptitude with bluster about misinformation and the bogeyman far right wont help them on the doorsteps.

Ms McEntee is currently putting the finishing touches to legislation that will allow returns of asylum seekers who have come across the Border and which will be implimented tomorrow..

Ireland will then begin sending asylum seekers back to the UK immediately after emergency legislation is passed enabling returns to restart, under the plans.

What did the McEntee do, she more than doubled down on her unsubstantiated figure, she went further and decided to, again unsubstantiated, claim that it's over 90%. All while we're trying to iron out a deal with the UK over repatriating immigrants.

Was Micheal Martin lying or mistaken?

She is incompetent and it's little wonder there was huge speculation at the time when Harris was elevated beyond his capabilities to Taoiseach, that even he would see the merit in removing yer wan from the role of Justice which is very clearly beyond her. But no, the blueshirts have circled the wagons and bluebots like you try to back her to the hilt. She makes Otto look like a brain surgeon.

She was a disaster at commitee last week on the subject and was very badly exposed.

And as I say, you try to blame those who aren't in government for the mistakes our government are making. MLMD is NOT the Minister for Justice, McEntee is, and it is "Ms" McEntee that has made an unholy mess of it all. She is the Minister. The buck stops with her, no matter how much bluebots like you try to shift the blame. She is utterly incompetent.
