Cyclists

so do ye reckon there’ll be some back pedalling on the bus connect plan?

it could take a while to go through the chain of command.

it’s not easy to turn the cogs with all the differing views.

some pause for reflectors might help.

The gross and net result of it is that people who spent most of their natural lives riding iron bicycles over the rocky roadsteads of this parish get their personalities mixed up with the personalities of their bicycle as a result of the interchanging of the atoms of each of them and you would be surprised at the number of people in these parts who are nearly half people and half bicycles...when a man lets things go so far that he is more than half a bicycle, you will not see him so much because he spends a lot of his time leaning with one elbow on walls or standing propped by one foot at kerbstones.

With any hope. The cycling lobby are already getting annoyed on social media about the objections. I reckon they know the plan is in trouble now. Yet again this was bungled.

They were increasingly desperate on social media for people to make positive submissions on this project.

This 'campaign' and its self elected chair are as anti democratic as you can get.

Theres no way this will go ahead. Not spending on a light rail network and pushing ahead with an unworkable bus plan is just spectacularly bad planning.

Busybody 'campaigners' should have no input into this.

There’ll be councillors lose their seat over this. The people who vote Green know what they’re getting but the likes of John Maher will be in trouble for failing to stand with residents.

The way to nail this thing is by positioning it as totally disconnected from regular Corkonians.

It’s a combination of local unelected busybody ecomentalists and unelected bureaucrats from Dublin.

A tiny minority of people who “know better,” telling us what’s best for us. That’s how to rile people and get this thing abandoned once and for all. Maybe next time they’ll do the consultation first and establish a local representative body.

Those public meetings were a waste of time too. Been told by a few who attended that the NTA people had no clue what people were talking about when they brought up specific concerns. This is akin to the time Alan Kelly tried to forcibly merge the City and County Council.

City councillors going against their constituents on this will deservedly lose their seats.

Taking away front gardens, chopping down in excess of 1000 trees, and taking away peoples right to park by their homes are all impractical and only serve to highlight this is a poorly planned scheme that is unworkable.

Perhaps we should target a local councillor who is supportive of this thing and is most vulnerable and ensure that he or she fails at the next election.

We need to send out a message.

Absolutely. Use social media against them. It’s about time people put a stop to the bullyboy tactics of the cycling lobby.
