Ya I agree. Perhaps a written statement of regret should have been forthcoming.

Having said that what is the usual practice between solicitors about issuing apologies?

Secondly the father of the child said this in an interview.
Had Moynihan had the same interview and asked the same question perhaps he would have expressed his regret and apologised.

Personally I never have much solace in apologies. It's easy to utter empty words.
For me acknowledging and truly understanding the wrong somebody did to me is paramount and is far more comforting.

In this case Moynihan pleaded guilty and accepted the consequences without appeal. Indicating he acknowledges the wrong and understands and accepts the consequences.

Perhaps that man will actually apologise now that he knows the father of the child would like one. Who knows? Maybe not. It's all a bit superficial imo. I'm not sure I would be comforted much by some letter of apology tbh. It might do the opposite.
