Cork roads

The statue and plaza erected at the end of the main street in Mallow was a ridiculous idea, it took away two lanes of traffic and converged into one lane with a build up of traffic at peak times to accommodate skate boarders and teenagers lounging around at the plaza, what overpaid council gombeens ratified this?

C'mere, what's your favourite road in Cork?

For driving, I'd go for the M8 between Mitchelstown and Fermoy before you get to the toll. It's usually a nice quiet stretch, mostly straight, nice views. Fermoy bypass is also nice but the toll is a bummer.
