Cork Hurlers - Part 2

In the last 12 months Cork hurling has played in 6 All Ireland finals in Croke Park and only won one.

Now I suppose to be fair the Cork seniors gave a great account of themselves and were narrowly beaten in the greatest final of all time and Russell Rovers put up a decent fight against St Lachtains last week.

St. Catherine's, Castlelyons and Sars were all heavily beaten after non performances. I wonder are we overthinking the Croke Park factor down here a bit in hurling circles recently and building it up too much to say that our teams are freezing to such an extent. I understand you meet a top team in a final and get beaten but we shouldn't be producing teams who are getting walloped in finals.

It's great that our teams are getting there, and the more we get there the more likely it is that the tide will eventually turn in our favour but it's just how do we start getting more Cork teams over the line on the big day up there.

Do you start Power over Hoggie with Hoggie coming on?
For championship? Who knows, we have loads of options, whoever is in form should start
I love the competition in every line bar full back line, but in forwards/midfield in particular. If everyones fit, its an awesome headache for PR.
Yeah full back line and half foward line are where we need more options
That said, an extra catcher at wing forward is a priority for me and reducing scores against us.
Me too and I’m hoping we have him

Club teams mean nothing to inter county. Our hurlers played in two classics this summer in Croke Park beating the 5 in a row chasing champions and losing by 1 point in extra time in an all time classic. Cork have no issues with Croke Park

I dunno R&B I think our recent record in Croke Park makes for grim reading.
Since 2010 I think our inter county record reads
Played 14, Won 4 Drew 1 Lost 9

Our club record reads
JR played 7 Won 3 Lost 4
Inter played 6 Won 3 Lost 3
Sr played 1 Won 0 Lost 1

Lot of those inter county games were games where for one reason or another the Cork team completely failed to fire
In particularly I'm thinking V Tipp 2014, V KK 2019 or V Limerick 2021.
