Cork Hurlers - Part 2

Watched it back last night ,1 thing i didnt notice during the game was before the throw in for the 2nd have some of the clare forwards were in deep conversation with the umpires at the hill 16 end, the same umpires that saw no 65 or penalty.
This thread is becoming ridiculous!
Need to look a bit closer to home like why did we start and leave on a 37 year old who’s hamstring was gone.

Having watched the 2 goals Clare Scored again. The Defence stood off like the clare lads had leperecy. They were told no sending off whatever happens but We didn't make effort to Jersey pull stand in the way block .It was all way too loose and that's because they were warned not to get sent off .
It's pointless dwelling on it too much but this is an aspect of the game the Cork backs need to get better at.

If that was Limerick or KK Mark Rogers and Kelly would have been flattened or dragged down up the pitch.

Jamesy o Connor was on newstalk Monday night.

Hilarious comments.

Ya, it was a free but the ref was right not to give it.
Ya, it was a sending off but it would ve been against the spirit of the game to send him off.

Bollocks talk
This is an excellent example of how media commentators influence the masses and refs. Jamsie's message is complete horseshit but it lands. Kerry in football are masters at this.

Jamsie's message "Clare won, they knew the ref was blowing very little and decided the pull, drag, hold jerseys and stop Corks flow. This was the spirit the game was played and reffed.

Cork, we have to learn from this. The normal cards and fees can not be called depending on the ref and occasion.

I am still massively disappointed after losing on Sunday.

However the fact remains that the future looks brighter for Cork than any other county.

Last Sunday there were ten players under 25 on the pitch at different times, nine under 24.
I felt also that Paudie Power should have been brought on.

Clare are a much older, much more experienced team are it was the older players in Cleary,Conon,Kelly and O Donnell who were key for them, all over thirty.

The young lads from Cork should learn from this experience and in a few weeks when this is behind them they will refocus on next year.

Hopefully as well we will see Cunningham, Mullins and possibly even Healy have an impact next year also.

There are no guarantees in sport but there can be no doubt the future looks bright
Valid points NC. Interestingly to see if new defenders can make the step up.

While having a reasonable year. I felt SOD had a tough final. His positioning at times, not staying goal side of his man was very worrying IMO.

Coleman to midfield with a grafter alongside him ie Tim.

Darragh Fitz to half forward.

I also think Joyce needs to go to the full back line. I don't think SOD is the answer anymore.

Downey full back. Joyce main marker on Gillanes, O'Donnell, Cody etc.
NOL on the third weakest forward.
Agree with Fitz to half forward is an option.

Agree SOD had a tough final and should be challenged next year.

I think serious consideration needs to given to TOC at midfield next year. His ability to win dirty ball on the ground nearly won the game for us in injury time.

Its great to have options. Depending on the opposition Coleman & TOM or TOM & TOC or B Roche if he can find form.
