Cork Footballers

games trialing the proposed rule changes on the weekend of the 18th and 19th of Oct and will be televised by RTE and TG4
you'd think they'd award the railway cup to the winners so the lads can fill it with Club energise.

Better that than leave it sitting on a shelf in some dismal provincial back office

Wonder what Cork players will be in this
Nobody still involved in club matches anyway so that knocks out a few
For the Railway Cup in 2 weeks time, these are the Cork players who are currently fit and out of club championship and available for selection if they opt in:

Kevin Flahive (Douglas)
Seán Powter (Douglas)
Seán Meehan (Kiskeam)
Darragh Cashman (Millstreet)
Ruairi Deane (Bantry Blues)
David Buckley (Newcestown)
Luke Fahy (Ballincollig)
Dan Ó Duinnín (Cill na Martra)
Jacob O’Driscoll (Valley Rovers)

I wonder would Cleary call up lads who were out with long term injuries but played in the club championship. For example:

Brian Hartnett (Douglas)
Nathan Walsh (Douglas)
Diarmuid Phelan (Aghada)
Tadhg Corkery (Cill na Martra)

The likes of Mallow, Éire Óg, Carbery Rangers, Nemo or Clon could be finished next week and may have players drafted in.

I'm not sure if John will bring any wildcards though as he is normally conservative with his selections.

John Cleary can choose the following from Kerry:

Jason Foley (Ballydonoghue)
Briain Ó Beaglaoigh (An Ghaeltacht)
Mike Breen (Beaufort)
Diarmuid O' Connor (Na Gaeil)
Cillian Burke (Miltown/Castlemaine)
Dara Moynihan (Spa)

The replay for Austin Stacks and Laune Rangers in the Intermediate Final has yet to be played. The Kerry Quarter Finals are on this weekend. I have a feeling Dr Crokes will beat Rathmore (tight one), East Kerry will beat St. Kieran's, Kenmare will beat St. Brendan's and Dingle will beat Templenoe (tight one) which could make the following players available:

Tadhg Morley (Templenoe)
Adrian Spillane (Templenoe)
Killian Spillane (Templenoe)
Shane Ryan (Rathmore)
Paul Murphy (Rathmore)

I doubt Luke Fahy will play after coming off injured in Senior QF

Isn't that the problem, sticking with the tried and tested hasn't worked for him.

Not many of those will be selected for a Munster selection. Your top 3 on the list possibly and Rory Maguire if Cleary can find a way to play him.

I heard Flahive has stepped away from the panel, work commitments. He owes cork nothing, he will be a massive loss. Haven’t heard anything about Powters future

surely cleary wont flog Powter and Meehan in that railway cup game with what they have gone through injury wise.

Do you think?

He’s been a useful player in my view but I’m not sure I’d categorises him as a massive loss.

Hopefully Powter stays put but I’m sure he mentioned his keenness to travel.
