Cork Footballers

Donegal were frightening in that second half. Watched it on Gaago. The determination, fitness levels and support running were off the scale.

Potential All Ireland champions. Next Saturday could be unpleasant for us.

On the other hand, Tyrone looked average enough.

I also watched it on GAA Go, and everything you wrote here also occurred to me.

Potential All Ireland champions.
They certainly have the look of it.

Next Saturday could be unpleasant for us.
It could be. But we have a shot at them. Could be great too. Dare to hope. Imagine what it'll feel like when we take them down.

On the other hand, Tyrone looked average enough.

Ffs stop, Tyrone gave it a right go and we’re overwhelmed by a brilliant team, Donegal have an excellent keeper, midfield and forward line, their backs are average but their pace and football is superb and of course they have possibly the best manager/coach out there.
Tyrone had canavan at full tilt, serious keeper and subs like Harte and m Shane and still got rolled over
Cork are an average second division team with an over rated inside line (Corbett still learning), an average keeper, no consistent free taker, an average midfield with zero other options and a subs bench that must be the weakest for cork at this level in 20 odd years

Saturday will be Death by strangulation. Our Middle 8 who cannot kick the ball and lift their heads in one go will assume the Crab formation. Decent defence and Keeper bit tactically McGuinness is light years ahead of our Galway Mercenary.

We cannot get away from the fact that the standard of senior club football in Cork is not great - and hasn't been for many years. It's a long time since Cork clubs dominated the All Ireland club championship. It's rare for our senior club champions to even get out of Munster now.

Maybe we should be a little less vitriolic in our criticism of the Cork football team & management. Like it or not, they are, more or less, the best group of individuals that we can assemble. They are putting in a huge effort and time committment, all are amateurs, with no financial gain.

They are human and many (most?) probably read what is said about them here on the PROC.

I am not saying we can't be critical, but some of the criticism here of individual players & managers borders on the personal.
