Cork Footballers

Agree totally with you. Excellent team display but looked shocking porous.. the only thing to factor is that Danny Flynn is probably the true best forward in the country.
Flynn is a major handful but he’s probably the biggest pain in the hole at the same time as he does some crazy shit.

Very good win from Cork after a poor first half. Walsh’s goal set them away. The defence did look shaky under long deliveries which makes me wonder why we don’t try something similar. No defence is overly keen on the chaos caused by a long, direct delivery. Not all the time, just the odd time to keep teams honest.

Deane’s direct running helped stop the lateral play that was an issue in the first half. Corbett is excellent, a rangey player with an eye for goal which is what you want. Too much safe hand passing the ball over the bar but he doesn’t want any of that unless he’s stuck. If we are going to upset the odds more often we will need goals.

Just watched the game on TG4.

Really good performance in what was our most important game so far this season

We had a poor start but from 30 minutes, we dominated them. They got a very soft penalty (not the 1st time Gough screwed us)

We had some really excellent performances and Corbett's goal was a class move.

We have finally found our mojo and I'd expect us to beat Meath

Too early to say we've turned the corner but things look a whole lot different than entering injury time up in Fermanagh.

we need one more win, Meath in Navan might be a big ask, Armagh at home when they are possibly already into the final the following week might be our best chance.

Good win in the end. This team do have a habit of finding themselves in deep holes, but TBF they've dug themselves out of the last two. Also interesting to see a side which had previously struggled to score from play run up 2-15 with no placed balls. Looking at the league table, Cork have managed a reasonably healthy 79 points in five games. The real problem is at the other end - they have conceded more than anyone else in D2, including Kildare.

I felt Mcsweeny today was almost afraid to use the ball Every time he got it he either passed it backwards or sideways Rarely went direct like a wing forward should do and I for one wasn't surprised when he was called ashore He will have better days .His replacement was more direct and it paid dividedens
