Cork Footballers

Damian O Neill was probably the best club player in the County at the time and didnt feature much at the time for Larry also. Jesus thinking of it we were fairly spoilt for choice for mid fielders around Cork at the time.

Nicholas
Haulie Sullivan
Damian O Neill
Fachtna Collins
Peader Concannon
Mick Moran
Jim Donoghue
Danny Culloty
Pat Hegarthy

Im probably missing a pile but ever club nearly at the time had a toweing mid fielder who could control the game and play ball aswell.
O Neill was by far the best all round footballer in Cork that time but was busy running a successful building company west in Bantry and he could not commit to LTs training 43 times a week. Any normal training schedule and O Neill would have been our No.1 midfielder and natural leader.

Ya he was class and would be a player well suited to todays game aseell.

Winter talk.
As Banofie Magpie pointed out here earlier, Cork senior footballers will not have a conveyor belt of talent until and unless CCB gets interested in winning and puts GDAs into designated schools in each Division.

The only barrier is lack of interest.
