Cork Footballers

It’s well known that Mark White was fully prepared to return this year and had intended only taking a 1 year hiatus. Unfortunately the call never came from Cleary. Hard to see him being parachuted in at this stage.

Crazy to think we could have one of the best keepers in the country sitting at home while we scour the reserves for a number 1. Sad situation. Couldn’t see it happening in any of the top counties. Even Cluxton who’s in his 40s was coaxed back.
Will you have a talk with him Fox I’m sure your words of wisdom would cox him back

😂 Id be happy to do so, but maybe a few words from Haulie ONeill would carry more weight.

Ideally a delegation comprising someone from management, a captain and perhaps a former Cork great (Billy maybe) would venture down to Clon to persuade him. Our future in the championship is at the stake, we shouldn’t be too proud to ask.

The next 3 games will tell a hell of a lot about the state of football in Cork. Louth is a solid team with great coaching. That said Cork should never lose to Louth in a game of consequence. Kerry are the standard bearers can Cork compete with them for a full game? Mayo are good but by no means great. It’s hard to fathom what will be on the line in this game so who knows what to make of it. It’s going to get interesting.

Forget Kerry and Mayo. The Louth result will define our season. Win and the glass is half full and anything is possible. Lose and it’s RIP for another year. Huge huge game v Louth and they’re thinking the exact same.

It'll be hard for Louth to pick themselves up after that pasting.
Harte no doubt will point to the fact that they beat us in the league.
And they're not as bad as they looked on Sunday.
But if I was to guess I'd say the players will take a fair bit of convincing on that front.
Granted they will feel they'll want to right the wrongs of that hiding on Sunday but their confidence must've taken a ferocious beating.

We've had fully 6 weeks to sort ourselves out.
We know where the problems are.
Have we fixed them? Maybe not.
Maybe we don't have the fixes within the set-up at the moment.

We need to win.
To banish a few demons of our own.

And if we're not capable of beating Louth "away from home" (not their home obviously) then we've no business worrying about knockout football.

Fat chance, Foxy.

Is the Cork v Louth game down for 2pm on Saturday week.
I'm not 100% sure but it looks like GaaGo won't be showing it.
They're showing a one sided game in Armagh v Westmeath
GaaGo are probably afraid to show any more Cork games after the backlash of the Cork v Tipp hurling game

A delegation needed to persuade an average enough keeper to come train with Cork.. don’t think so Ted..
