Autism

Autism is measured on a scale, so the answer to your questions is yes you can have some autistic traits and not others.
In basic terms, to explore the possibility of Autism, a person must meet the criteria of the "Dyad of Impairments": Challenges in social interaction (including communication), and a pattern of restricted behaviours and interests. Within Autism there is a spectrum, rather than a scale. A scale suggest a "more or less" linear pattern, where in reality it is like a wheel or pie chart of challenges, triggers etc. How each autistic person reacts to a trigger, challenge etc can vary by person, and in the person by day or even hour. It can depend on physical factors and environmental factors.
There was previously a notion of "mild autism" (In fact it's not mild for the person, its mild for those around them because the person is working so hard to mask it)
Aspergers was subsumed into ASD or Autism Spectrum Disorder in DSM V.

Every person on the autism spectrum is different.
It is precisely why it is called a spectrum.

High functioning is a misnomer. The challenges are varied to an individual. Routine, social interaction, gross and fine motor skills, verbal and nonverbal communication....

The most important thing for anyone to understand is that it not less - it is just different. People on the spectrum experience and see the world in a different not less way.

Of course. Every single person is an individual.

I apologise if I offended anyone.

I was helping to run a focus group last night for someone doing a study on the experiences of Autistic Adults who got a late diagnosis and went through the education system undiagnosed.

It was absolutely fascinating to listen to, and at times sad to see the discrimination and challenges they faced, and the outright bullying, in all facets of their life.

There has been a spike in adults seeking a diagnosis, But surely all that does is clog up the system and deny young kids a chance to
have early intervention, I know i am on the spectrum in some fashion but will not seek a diagnosis,
