2024 Premier Senior Hurling Championship

The oversea rules are in place for decades and they are there to protect the player and the clubs. You can’t have fellas deciding on a weekly basis what club they are going to play with
American or Oz competitions do not affect home competitions in the slightest. As long as player burnout isn't an issue, I don't see what the issue is and the need for waiting 60 days. It's such an idiotic way of thinking and doesn't benefit anyone at all except the lads and their clipboards and their shirt buttons hanging on for dear life.

We were told at training this morning that the Board are wrong. The way the rules are written there is actually no punishment for the club, mentors in this case and no reversal of the result. Also he said the player was unjustifiably suspended and will get off too, because the wording of the punishment doesn’t apply to the player and wouldbt get through any court.
Are ballinhassig & bride rovers entitled to a replay as their players sat out the game if it is a nothing rule? Horgan & Donovan up to their dirty tricks .

If the suspension gets quashed, it will lead to anarchy going forward.
Zero punishment then for breaking the rules.
But look, maybe someone in a position of power was hoping to brush this under the carpet and nothing would come of it.
Time to see what some club delegates are made of, but they'll probably be shouted down from the top table, as tends to happen with any challenges from the floor.

Oh, the fecking drama!
It's all drama, the funny thing is the GAA Official codes state the following
(v) A player who has received a Sanction shall not be eligible to play with the player’s OwnClub in Ireland (other than in exceptional circumstances to be determined from timeto time by the Central Council) for the 30 days after the date of approval of theSanction in Croke Park but is eligible to play with the player’s Own County

There was a motion to change this and it passed in congress March this year

That Code 9.2 (v) (page 15) be amended to read:
A player who has received a Sanction shall not be eligible to play with his Own Club in Ireland (other than in exceptional circumstances to be determined from time to time by the Central Council) for the 60 days after the date of approval of his Sanction in Croke Park but is eligible to play with his Own County.’
Motion carried. Tá 71.7% Níl 28.3%

Afaics they never updated the official codes.

Do you have the punishment?

Players should of course be free to do what all the other players do and that is abide by the rules. Rules are for everyone and not just the better lads who get a great summer out of it (for what its worth I think the are absolutely right to do it and I hope they enjoy it). The rules however are clear.
I find it odd Midleton still have the points (thinking of Blarney v Bride) last year which was a simple error.

The GAA rule book is a bit like the Bible, it is open to many interpretations.
