2024 Premier Senior Hurling Championship

Whatever your view of the rule (it's perfectly reasonable imho), it's there and if it's broken it means you've fielded an unregistered player.

If you've fielded an unregistered player then that's the result scratched and awarded to the opposing side. I don't see how the system can land at any other conclusion.
And a suspension for the club Secretary and Chairman

If it was a breach of the registration rules involving inter clubs in Ireland the player, chair and sec would also be suspended, but also the points awarded to Charleville. It’s because it’s the North American transfer it’s slightly different. That’s what I was told this evening anyway

Thistle, you’d have fellas transferring all over the shop if that was the case, it’s not soccer where you can change clubs like you change jocks.

And don’t get me started on UCC. A club when it suits them, a college when it doesn’t. The only club I know where you don’t have to transfer to
I'm not saying a lad from Blacrock should be allowed to play for St. Mary's in Enniskeane. But what difference to anyone does it make if a lad plays in Oz, Dubai or the States and comes home to play with his club, the club he learned to hold a hurley at? Player welfare this and player welfare that and now they're putting these stupid demands on players trying to have a life and a laugh yet still commit to their club when they can. And to to the lads that sat out from playing with their club last weekend, following this bullshit rule, it is a pity they all didn't come together and play as a big fuck you to the gobdaws who make these rules. More concerned about their dinner at the dinner dance and their a4 pad at the AGM than the players that keep them in a job.

The fact of the matter is that this Century Bishopstown have contested as many county finals as the Barrs.

The Glen were playing in a division way beyond their abilities and the mighty Bishopstown sorted that anomaly.

Bishopstown are hurling royalty..
I have a soft spot for them after beating the Glen last year. Hoping they do a job on Erin’s Own in a relegation final this year

And a suspension for the club Secretary and Chairman
We were told at training this morning that the Board are wrong. The way the rules are written there is actually no punishment for the club, mentors in this case and no reversal of the result. Also he said the player was unjustifiably suspended and will get off too, because the wording of the punishment doesn’t apply to the player and wouldbt get through any court.
