That was a fair reflection of the game. It was a very dour game. No atmosphere for a final. Referee was whistle happy so there was no great flow to the game. I thought Charleville would be much better than what they were. Obviously being out of the hurling over a month ago, they took the foot off the pedal instead of going all in for the football. They were without Darren Butler, Jack O' Callaghan and Jack Meade, arguably their 3 best footballers. Andrew Cagney only came on as a late sub too. And Darren Casey getting an early red card and Robert Carroll getting a 2nd half black card finished the game as a contest. I don't want to take away from Liscarroll/Churchtown Gaels victory. They were certainly the better team on the night. The freetaking of Pauric O' Shea and Colin O' Brien were excellent. LC Gaels also had a hard earned semi final victory against Killavullen on Friday night and it obviously stood to them well last night. As far as I know, it is Liscarroll or Churchtown's first ever Junior A North Cork Football final victory. I am sure they will give Ballygarvan a game on Subday, albeit Ballygarvan might just have a little too much for them.
