2024 Junior A Football Championship

That was a fair reflection of the game. It was a very dour game. No atmosphere for a final. Referee was whistle happy so there was no great flow to the game. I thought Charleville would be much better than what they were. Obviously being out of the hurling over a month ago, they took the foot off the pedal instead of going all in for the football. They were without Darren Butler, Jack O' Callaghan and Jack Meade, arguably their 3 best footballers. Andrew Cagney only came on as a late sub too. And Darren Casey getting an early red card and Robert Carroll getting a 2nd half black card finished the game as a contest. I don't want to take away from Liscarroll/Churchtown Gaels victory. They were certainly the better team on the night. The freetaking of Pauric O' Shea and Colin O' Brien were excellent. LC Gaels also had a hard earned semi final victory against Killavullen on Friday night and it obviously stood to them well last night. As far as I know, it is Liscarroll or Churchtown's first ever Junior A North Cork Football final victory. I am sure they will give Ballygarvan a game on Subday, albeit Ballygarvan might just have a little too much for them.
Excellent report. A work colleague of mine was at the game and said more or less the same thing. He was very impressed with number 7 in the blue boots also.😂. Whoever that was.

Charleville's 2nd team, kilworth havent lokked at a football this year and killavullen a team still pissed after winning a real north 😆
😆😆 ur obviously in a bad way over us winning .and u suppose ballyhooley 2 team aswell .didn't realise charleville had teo teams 🙄🙄🙄 don't be bitter lad it doesn't suit people hopefully ballyclough can start to win again 😉

The game would have been much tighter if Charleville had been able to keep 15 on the pitch. That said think LC Gaels still would have had more about them, football and pace wise to get the win.

i would have thought Douglas would beat Kilmacabea but the venue gives Kilmacs big advantage

Yes for sure the sending off was a big game changer there was never a bad charleville team gaels played well enough not to there full potential .but looked fitter if u ask me .but to win league and championship and nobody really giving us a chance is great for us

Has there been a full list of fixtures and venues published. Good to see LC Gales making the breakthrough. Charleville can't have any complaints, had over a month to prepare for football . Guy told me straight red deserved, throw a punch in front of ref no chance. Jack Callaghan in Australia, don't know about other 2 players.
.

L/C Gaels the better team on the night. Red card had a big baring alright but Gaels had some wayward shots and passes during the game too. Ref was very fussy with a few head scratchers. All in all, Gaels have a good young team but don't think they'll be winning the county

All quarter finals on Sunday:

Ballygarvan v LC Gaels in Blarney 2pm
Castlemagner v Inniscarra in Donoughmore 2pm
Kilmacabea v Douglas in Clonakilty 3pm
