Why did they bring in the RPZ? Scumbag landlords were increasing rents at insane levels. Let them sell up. Our government has set on a course of driving Irish operators out of the market.

Building houses will end the housing crisis, not driving private landlords out of the rental sector.

Point being, Germany has much higher rental rates, cheaper rates and higher quality accomodation.
Their market is dominated by large companies, and other large institutions.
The type of owner isn't necessarily a primary determinant of the rental market, having huge numbers of small landlords is not inherently a good thing to be protected.
