We know there's a well connected loyalist tout involved. It was the fact that they claimed that it was a matter of national security that it all stay under wraps and at the same time claim it was accident by misadventure that made people point out the obvious contradiction

You may not have heard, but there's been a thing called The Good Friday Agreement since Scapatici was killing people to preserve his MI5 cover. All sides of the conflict are supposed to be on ceasefire. How covering up the killing of a child by a loyalist in the post conflict era is a matter of "National security comes first" is some very bizarre twist of logic by you.
