2022 Premier Senior Hurling

Very enjoyable game.. great heart shown by both sides. Two similar sides as regards the old experienced heads and young lads coming through from u20s. Hope hoggie makes a full recovery.
Odd to think the glen could be the only senior hurling club in the whole of the northside after today. Half a city having 1 senior hurling is not good for cork hurling.. To think when cork were winning all irelands in 2004/05 st vincents were strong intermediate side, na piarsaigh were county champs, delaneys were senior.

Yeah you had players on na piasaigh like The obvios Sean og, Sentanta, Gardner, Mark prendergast all cork IC players at that time. Delanes with John o driscoll and the Egan brothers Batty, kevin and James. No real notible players on both sides in current day.

Think the Glen will look back at that as one they left behind them.

Against the wind in the first half, conceded a lot of scores from turnovers on the short puckout, they weren't accurate enough and passing to men under pressure. The goal was v.soft defending.

That said it looked like they had enough in them in the 2nd half with the wind. When they drew level with about 10mins to go, the missed free and subsequent wide from the next play seemed to be the turning point. If they went ahead at that point, to me they would have went on to win. Serious performance from Eoin Downey.

Fair play to Newtown, very dogged display. Thought their FB line did well not to give up anything easy and no real goal chance in the hour. They will fancy their chances in the semi.

Thought Newtown very impressive, great physicality. They died easily enough against Midleton so big difference here today. TOM very good, seemed to get on end of everything. Full back line was solid throughout. Cormac o Brien very good in midfield too. Naughton knows his pace is gone but dropped deep to set up attacks. Cuteness.
Eoin Downey brilliant. His shooting is impressive. Thought when the Glen drew level they would win. No fault of young o Leary but those missed frees when they drew level were game changing. Has a bright future though.
Am I right in saying Newtown and Erin’s in semi ?

If Blackrock and the Barrs both win they can’t meet each other in the semi’s so will split Newtown and Erin’s

Anyone know the rule re u16s? Ive a lad who is 16. Is he free or the fact hes gone 16 do I need to pay? He's u16 in gaa terms.
