Tbf I think yer man has to pay for it if he doesn't finish everything, but still it's not something I'd be shouting about if I was a business owner. Read the room etc.

I had dinner in the Merrion Hotel this evening. Era twas grand but like anyone comparing it to the Shelbourne is deluded.

€10 for a bowl of soup and €45 for the fillet steak. €6.60 for the pint of Guinness. We all partied m8s.

And yer man Bobby Ewing from Dallas is sitting across from me lol.

I hope the waiter was dressed like this when he brought the bill.

It wasn't even a great steak. I asked for medium rare but it was almost medium well, and the pepper sauce was very watery.

I wasn't paying though so didn't give a fuck. For dessert I had one scoop of honeycomb ice cream (€4) and a Laphroaig scotch (€9.80).

The service was excellent and its very relaxed, but for that kind of coin I'd just go to the Shelbourne for the history and the experience.
