Being co-opted up there is a joke, what ever about councils, no way should MLAs be. But they all do it, Martina Anderson was co-opted in 2020, when her MEP seat was abolished due to Brexit. Karen Mullen was co-opted in Foyle as well to replace Mc Callion. Sinead McLaughlin from the SDLP as well. Foyle actually has a litany of co-option from all the parties.
It's just a gravy train.

Jeffrey Donaldson still thinks that the U.K. will sacrifice an international trade deal and cause an international outcry with the U.S. & E.U. etc and close off their food imports during a cost of living crisis.

Braverman does not have a brain in her head as they all all wheeled out to spout performative nonsense to further their careers.

There may be others.

AFAIK the leader of the DUP according to their party rules must be an MLA. Hence Sir Jeff running as an MLA and the previous Arlene and Poots with higher profile Sammy and IPJ. Can't see Sammy, and especially not IPJ the junket lover, giving all the Westminster kudos up just to be an MLA. Maybe Pengelly might be earmarked for the future though her being a co-optee rather than running herself as an MLA wouldn't be helpful on that score.

Quite frankly a disgrace that no Speaker was nominated. DUP could still have left their toys out of the pram but without a Speaker nothing at all moves. Talk about cutting off their nose to spite their face.
