I'm coming to Cork

In the city I would check out:

The Imperial Hotel on the South Mall is a very nice “old world” hotel in the city centre - http://www.flynnhotels.com/Imperial_Hotel/

I would go to a town called Cobh – the port where many emigrants left Ireland for the Americas - http://www.cobhheritage.com/index2.html. Cobh is approx 30 mins drive from City Centre. There is also a commuter train serving the town.

The Jameson Heritage Centre in Midleton in East Cork is worth a visit if you like your whiskey - http://www.jamesonwhiskey.com/Heritage_Midleton_experience_Tour_info.aspx

The Beara peninsula in West Cork is fabulous. The Mizen peninsula is also worth a visit with unique villages such as Glandore, Union Hall, Schull, Ballydehob. Skibbereen town is also worth a visit.

If you are interested in Irish history, when in Clonakilty you should check out the Michael Collins Centre - http://www.michaelcollinscentre.com/.

What he says.

I'm on Prince Edward Island.

It's in behind Newfoundland.

My parents moved from here quite some time ago. I was born in Toronto. I moved here 12 years ago.
It's a nice quiet spot.

aaaaaaaaa

No boubt.. I'd love to catch a Hurling Match.
Our ice hockey probably came from Hurling.
You can't run on ice, and this place freezes up solid.

If it's archaeology you want you need to check out Drombeg Stone Circle near Rosscarbery, Charles Fort in Kinsale, Wine Geese museum in Kinsale, Cork county museum in Fitzgeralds Park in city.

Definately check out West Cork while you're here, you won't regret it!!

Try and stay in Bed and Breakfasts where you can, it means that you get the real atmosphere of an Irish home rather than some fancy modern hotel type malarky.

This makes me want to go for a spin down west myself now :D

you're allowed walk all over tara

newgrange is only a few miles away and is a must-see if you're in the area... but get there as early as possible to avoid the crowds. If i were you i'd go to newgrange early morn and then head to tara
