Your Mental Health

I'm torn between walking with a podcast v without. I'm getting the exercise in but missing the mental benefits of walking in the woods. But I also like how the podcasts help me switch off.

But perhaps not being able to switch off in the woods is it's own problem. Maybe it's because I power walk as opposed to strolling so the head isn't in the right mode for taking in the woods.

Though when I do walk with the smallie I really get to enjoy the woods and his enjoyment of it too
Bandony, I'm no bloody expert, but I have a feeling that bare-back (No music, no podcasts, etc) is definitely the way to go. Especially in the woods, away from traffic when you really can appreciate nature. It's kinda funny, cos I'm the opposite of a tree hugger in most things, but being away from traffic and people is a luxury for many of us. Enjoy it, mate. And if you're with your smallie, all the more so.

The smallie's in one of those creche in the woods things so I go through the woods to pick him up with headphones on but of course go bareback bringing him home (on a much shorter route) back through the woods.

No matter what's going on, watching him walk through the woods makes everything ok for that time.

You'd be fierce jealous of their innocence and wonderment of the world. I really should be using it as motivation to rediscover and learn.

Correction: fierce pride and freudenfreude with a small ping of jealousy

Guy above is usually a Manchester United content creator in you tube. All of a sudden he seems to lose a lot of weight and looked great.

But of course it wasn't all of a sudden, and there was a sad story behind how he'd been severely depressed and contemplating (and attempting) suicide.

I'd never have guessed it about him. The video is well worth a watch. As he says himself it's small steps most of the time in caring for yourself and your mental health that make the difference.
