Faro.
Weather was average. People are not very friendly. Lots of English. Boring town.
Would not recommend.

Never heard of anyone going to Faro itself for a holiday TBH, just the airport. Plenty of decent spots around within an hour. Albufeira the place of choice for English breakfasts and sun (wouldn't look down on it TBH, it's got its place) while retaining a reasonably sized city vibe. The canny traveller will head to Armacao de Pera just up the coast though - Albufeira old town feel minus the UK/Irish bars (visitors probably 80% Portuguese) and far cheaper. Shhhh.... don't tell anyone!

Had the same impression with people in Lisbon

Soundest police I have ever met in Lisbon, when you ask for directions they go out of their way to show you where to go.

Fly to Corfu quick 30 min ferry to Saranda in the south no hassle.

Do your homework in the Stan countries you might never be seen again.
