Who else here misses 'a good funeral'?

Fair to them, 300 people showed up to give her a good send off.

A cousin of my Nana died a few years ago into her 90s. She had a son, a daughter and grandkids. I would have been very fond of her as a child as she was a lovely lady. As she’d lived so long she didn’t really have anyone left so I’d say there was less than 30 at the funeral mass. It was sad to see it as she had been a very popular lady.

A story like the one shared is really lovely to see and really speaks to the decency of people.

Did I ever tell ye about the time a team mate died and we set up a guard of honour outside the church.
Taking the coffin we shouldered it all the ways down to the local graveyard in the pissing rain.
When we got there, and after a small delay, the priest came up to us all frustrated and said ' lads this is my fault and not yours but Tony is getting cremated.

Listening to morning ireland there now and the undertaker for paraic Nally was speaking about RIP contacting them and taking down his condolences as some of them were inappropriate.

Undertaker said he never seen so many condolences as over 132 pages the biggest he has ever seen for a funeral but unfortunately it's not up on RIP anymore...

Traveller activist Latisha McCrudden said the anti-Traveller comments originally posted spread “violence and hatred against our community”.

“Once again, Ireland showcases its hatred, abuse, discrimination and non-acceptance towards the Traveller community,”

Lol

That's an amazing story.

Especially considering that it's the undertaker and not the priest who would arrange transport from the church to the burial/crematorium.

Also amazing that the family of the deceased person, who organised the crematorium, didn't at any point stop the coffin being taken to the graveyard.

Yup, that's a pretty unbelievable story alright....
