the wine thread

I had Puglia in the back of my mind after all the talk with CrispY. Went for a 100% negroamaro from Pietra, happened to be organic. I’ve forgotten how bloody good a decent negroamaro is, love that dark, austere, brambly, slightly tannic thing the grape has going on. This one lingers, lovely spice

Mmmmmmm

Talk to me, Negroamangeo. Where can I lay my paws on one?

(I swear to Aisha that if you reply with something like "It's not available anymore" or "You can only get it if you high-five Patrick Guilbaud on a Tuesday" I will get very cross)

In the meantime - I ordered a RAKE of that Sirrocco for Christmas and lobbed in a few of these while I was at it;

It was listed as a 2022 - they sent me 2023 (pricks) but even that young it was very drinkable.

Is there an Italian version of Beaujolais Nouveau? Cos this might be it.

Whilst we're in the wine thread...

My favourite Cork wine merchants have a sale on some Spanish wines this month.

El Goru - of which I have extolled the virtues previously - is in the sale. That wine is a motherfucker and at that price also a no-brainer.

Now... - use this code - HELEN10 - and get an extra 10% everything. Even sale prices - delivery or collection. Don't say Uncle Crispy never did anything for you.

Of course - I got this code AFTER I had ordered over 200 lids worth of wine from O'Brien's. Cuntish.

Apassimento wines are definitely in the sledgehammer category - good for winter drinking too and bushing with the lads

Having a glass of 2019 Chateau d'Agassac here. A nice drop of Haut Médoc, though probably a bit young. Opened it last night with a bit of ribeye. Tonight's a pinsa ?. Not the most Bordeaux of Bordeaux but pleasant enough.
