The Official Liverpool Thread - Part 2

So was the team you're running playing in the tournament and did you win?
Yeah we had 36 boys over with us

We lost the final by 2 points but all good. I was delighted for the team that won as it meant a huge amount to them to have beaten an Irish team, they are the current all-britain champions at that age group. I have 3 teams every Saturday that are streamed with our top guys in Division 1 to our C team in Division 15 so I decided to make 2 mixed ability teams for the tournament as my strongest team would have smashed everyone they played, and it was great to see the whole group playing together again.. brilliant for the weaker kids especially.

Great weekend, Liverpudlians are a very friendly, welcoming bunch

Fair dues to you. Sounds like bit of work but brilliant for the kids!
I'm happy to get 15-16 kids playing u7 blitz in a nearby club without losing any of them!!

Mine are U13 now so I think it's the sweet spot for a trip like that as they are able to look after themselves in the main, but not old enough to try anything stupid either. Next year the same trip would be a different ball game!

U7s is like herding sheep :lol!:

Tips my hat to you Sir...

You get what sport is about and how to improve players.

Respect.

Mohamed Salah has completed a triumphant season by winning The Footballer of the Year award for the third time, having collected it previously in 2018 and 2022. The Egyptian joins Thierry Henry as the only player to have won football’s oldest and most prestigious individual award three times, and this year he won by an overwhelming majority. He won 90 per cent of votes cast by the FWA’s over 900 members, the biggest winning margin this century.
The top four was:
  1. Mohamed Salah
  2. Virgil Van Dijk
  3. Alexander Isak
  4. Declan Rice

Hard to believe the FWA know so little about football. Salah has been past it for two years, we've lads in here telling us that. And Virgil coming second?
