The Official Liverpool Thread - Part 2

Mohamed Salah has completed a triumphant season by winning The Footballer of the Year award for the third time, having collected it previously in 2018 and 2022. The Egyptian joins Thierry Henry as the only player to have won football’s oldest and most prestigious individual award three times, and this year he won by an overwhelming majority. He won 90 per cent of votes cast by the FWA’s over 900 members, the biggest winning margin this century.
The top four was:

  1. Mohamed Salah
  2. Virgil Van Dijk
  3. Alexander Isak
  4. Declan Rice
So somewhere there are journalists who thought Declan Rice had a better season than Salah…🤷‍♂️

Helluva player in his day, but doesn't feel like a good use of resources to bring him in at this age - unless he relaxed his wage demands considerably.

I'm sure he could come in and impress for portions of games but he's a very different player to the guys he'd be coming in for, so it would be quite disruptive changing up formations & tactics game-to-game.

If he was that much of a Liverpool fan he'd have found a way to get a deal done before moving to City.
