The Official Liverpool Thread - Part 2

Traveling today so not watching the game and following it on BBC commentary. Whoever is running the text is absolutely livid anyway. It’s quite entertaining. They are quoting chants from the stands. If Liverpool get a second they will go into full on meltdown.

in my 50+ years of watching the beautiful game never before have i seen such a nailed-on stonewall pen.... imho the foul was so appalling (not to mention life-threatening) that LFC should have been awarded at least two penalties AND the games three points on the spot*!

* pun intended

Soft is an understatement. Bloke tripped himself .

Looked like it was contact from Cook which led to Gakpo tripping himself up.

But there wasn't enough of a deliberate motion from Cook for it to be a pen imho

Maybe the ref thought the angle of the run was cynical, as it can engineer contact.

No way was that ever a penalty tbh.

patchy performance and rode their luck, Kluievert's chance is huge. Trent out for a few weeks I guess, maybe the Goodison match too soon for him. The most encouraging thing is two clean cheets in two tricky away matches v Brentford & Bournemouth.

Statement win there. I know it’s Bournemouth but on their current form beating them away is a brilliant result. 👍

Bournemouth are legitimately one of the best sides in the league. Arsenal & City lost there.

Big result for Liverpool to get 3 pts there, especially with Arsenal having City tomorrow.

If they drop pts tomorrow and Liverpool beat Everton mid-week it'll be a double digit points gap. Now is the time to try to extend that gap and break Arsenal's spirit, before the volume of games ramps up in March.
