The Official Liverpool Thread - Part 2

Be careful what you wish for with Salah. We won’t see the likes of him again. Just look at Diaz’s inferior numbers to Mane as an example of how pretty much everyone is a step down from the Mane, Firmino and Salah trio. Salah’s numbers are sensational and we are very unlikely to see a winger produce those numbers again.

He was doing very well until he got injured and has struggled for form since. He’s still the most likely man to score a goal. He still is in great shape, still frightens defenders but has raw moments, as he always has had. The day he leaves is the day we get worse. Could be this summer and of course he’s not getting younger but Salah owes us nothing.

Re-Salah from a purely business and non-sentimental POV selling would make sense.

He gets the bones of €20m per year in wages and can leave on a free summer ‘25.

If they turn down €60m for him then they’re valuing 1 season for a 33 yr old at €80m.

Even if he was to match his output again next season that’s an awful lot for 1 years service.

He’s been incredible but he’s a saleable asset and will need replacing within 18 months anyway. Might as well get a few bob in for him and put it towards a rebuild

Hes a has been.

Not quite at Darwin Nunez choke levels this season but not far off it.

12 non penalty goals in the league.

Liverpool were completely mental to turn down the widely reported 200 million offer for him last summer

It was a massive blunder for a player who is well past his best.

Disappointing end to what would have been a great night in Dublin, excited and nervous for the next chapter, vital to finish season strong, you never know what might happen if we win all our games left

Salah is done, I said it a week or so ago. His tracking back, his pace and even the type of goals he's scoring, he's a shadow of himself and Edwards will no doubt sell him on in the summer. VVD might go too, but I'd be tempted to keep onto to him for his experience.

Agreed.

The time to sell was last season.

50-60 mill is as much as they will get for Salah now imo. Frightening how quickly hes tailed off, always a possibility when pace was such a big part of his game.

Van Dijk has also lost that critical yard of pace. Not too many replacements available. Kim at Bayern supposedly on the market after an underwhelming season at Bayern.

The money being mentioned for English centrebacks like the Everton lad is completely ridiculous.
