You'd wonder what the benefits case is around Palace spending big money this summer?
They've finished 22-24pts off 4th spot over the last few seasons so you'd doubt they are realistically aiming for that.
At a stretch a EL spot may be achievable but even then you could well see them de-prioritising that competition once the games come in thick & fast.
Even after finishing in 15th spot last season they still earned a healthy 72m in total PL prize/tv money...compared to the 100m that Arsenal earned as top dogs (2nd placing in the league & most TV games).
It's not what fans want to hear but as an owner you'd be tempted to spend vaguely sensibly to ensure no risk of relegation rather than investing heavily just to move up a handful of places.
