National Indoors weekend
All the indoor champs are happening this weekend. Ireland, UK, US, France and the Netherlands.
A weekend of looking shitty streams on youtube with a single camera and some quality regional accented commentary.
I went about getting a ticket for the Irish champs this week and they were sold out for the Sunday.
it'll depend on race declarations (most of the household names are listed in 2 events) but the mens 3000m looks tasty,
Andrew Coscoran (Star of the Sea AC), Darragh McElhinney (Bantry AC), Calum Morgan (CNDR Track), Cormac Dalton (Mullingar Harriers), Sean Tobin (Clonmel AC), Finley Daley (Sligo AC) and James Gormley (Carmen Runners).
i expect all of them to run it as they have to secure selection. Coscoran has a 1500m entry too along with Cathal Doyle. Griggs is injured.
Mawdesley will be favourite for the 400m but bedind her are Phil Healy, Lauren Cadden, Kelly McGrory and Rachel McCann..No sogn of Sophie Becker. Loads on the line there.
English and McCann in the 800m is also very relevant.
In the US the big boys aren't declaring choosing to run GST in favour of a trip to China.
Can Shelby "Darth Vader" Houlihan do it?(yes she can I'd say)
Can anyone stop Josh Hoey in the 800m? No way
Can Hobbs Kessler win a title or will remain bridemaid. I don't know but I hope so.
Brits is probably the best one. Its certainly the deepest with the fewest clear cut favourites.
It'll be on Beeb red button.
Will Whiteman toe the line?..Will Mr Elbows George Mills be done for GBH?
Will Laura Muir not make a selection for the first time in forever.
Stay tuned folks
