Yeah, it seems to be an African thing in general, or at least quite a few countries there. You'd wonder in this day and age but I guess there aren't written records for some small places or if there are the families can't read or write and things become confused. I honestly don't know if there's a cultural angle that we're missing too. We're fairly obsessed with age in all spheres of life, maybe they're less so.
