Post B) See above, with the added detail of.... but I did 8x400 in 74 secs average yesterday, which is 2:10:00 pace. It’s not that hard. (They make the WUMS on our own Sweet Valley High Forum look like restrained Philosophy professors)

But the best was Post C) "At this rate the women will break 2 hours before the men"!!!!!!!

Given what's been going on in Kenyan athletics wrt doping the last few years I'd say there are huge question marks hanging over this time.

From what I've read they'd give the East Germans a run for their money.?

Thanks for posting Guapo but Christ, it's depressing reading, some real cries for help in that article. What a dreadful experience for athletes caught in in those programs on such an uneven playing field. While very much merited, a ban on Kenya would have a killer impact on the high-performance running communities. There's absolutely no point in declaring a ban unless there's a program that can be put in place to do it right - because there is unquestionable talent there. You can't see the Kenyan goverment being able to run any sort of even program.

Meanwhile, outside of Kenya, you have Hassan sitting there in that top 3 - a top class racer and an athete you really want to be clean - but also an "ordinary" high performer who took a sudden jump after her time at Nike.

New Irish Marathon record in Dublin today - just under Treacy’s longstanding mark but it’s there OK ?

Mark Carroll nearly broke it in possibly his only 26.2 in, of all places, New York. Imagine what he could have done on a flat course.
