The Official Arsenal Thread - Part 2

Sublime skills here from Zinchenko.

I’ve said it before but Pep made some fuck up by letting him go. He’s class and seems to be a real leader as well.

The way Arteta sets up with the ball is similar to Pep. The right full back stays narrow to make a back three and the left full pushes into midfield as a ball player.

Cancelo was great at this up to the world cup and vital to the way they played. Zinchenko was brilliant as a back up there as well so Pep really cocked up by letting him leave. He definitely underrated Arsenal and wouldn’t have seen them as rivals for winning the league.

If Arsenal do beat City to the league then Peps arrogance will have been the main reason. Zinchenko has been the best lb in the league bar none and is one of the 4 Arsenal players they simply can’t do without in the run-in along with Partey, Odegaard and Saka.

100%. He’s been a revelation.

There’s a goal against Everton where he pops up on the right side to play a through ball to Saka.

It’s a high risk tactic but because of the speed and strength of Gabriel and Saliba we get away with it most of the time.
It’s his connectivity with other players which then creates an overload, is what makes it hard to play against.

And yes, Pep could massively regret it, leaving Cancelo go too was akin to negligence imo.

I'd add to that Ramsay, White, Martinelli, Xhaka.

Lol, basically everyone but our main striker is indispensable. And the last game was our first in the league without the Gabi/Saliba partnership. That's nuts.

That being said our defence on corners needs a bit of tweaking alright
