They want to implement a system where people can simply stop paying their rent and remain in a property.


Why would ANYONE leave themselves open to this.

No wonder so many landlords are just selling up or just leaving the house or apartment empty and thus adding to the problem of lack of supply.

We do not have proper competition now in the banking/mortgage sector as it is almost impossible to get the property back from a mortgage holder as we all pay higher interest rates as a result.

They've overregulated to the point where landlords are selling up in record numbers. They were told this would happen and they did it anyway.


Their solution? Make renting a property more unattractive to the owner.


Telling people what they can do with their property and leaving them in a financial hole is just shockingly bad governance and completely counter productive.

The usual "othering" of sectors of our society as a simple solution divisive tactic.

Landlords, big business, vulture funds, big corporations, fat cats etc. cartoon villains sounds great if your intellect and understanding has not moved beyond Tom & Jerry.

We need landlords and all types of housing and homes as a future stable society and should be doing every single thing to encourage people to rent out vacant homes as well as build new homes etc. as people will be/are the victims of political failures and whims.
