The Munster Rugby Thread 2019/20

Savage win. Insane that it was Beirne and Snyman's first start together. Great bench to bring on as well, and some of those lads will have got a bit of a rest and may start next week. Shows how much damage injuries did to us this season. Still missing EdEd and Kleyn.
Appearantly Kleyn has some issue with an eye and is going to the US to visit some specialist.

If he has to give up, I wonder can this RG move then be stopped ?

No, Snyman is gone but in all honesty the decision has been made, we have to move on. That leaves a big problem if Kleyn has to retire, who's available ? Beirne will have limited availability, will Egdogbo be fit and presumably Ahern will move into second row. Anyone know what is the story with Gleeson ?

I don't think I'd want Snyman. There's no way he'd get the consistent starts that Kleyn is getting and that's what you'd need. They'd be better off using that NIQ spot for another second row that can run the maul for a high percentage of games over the season.

Gleeson should have been u20s again this year so I'd say he'll be managed this season for an increased amount of minutes but nothing too mad.
Quinn is probably the guy that will get more time this season being further ahead development wise.

Very welcome news.

I feel next season is a major transitional one. POM, Zebo, Archer, Kilcoyne, Ryan and Murray on their way out, Snyman, Carbery and maybe Frisch gone. Adding Kleyn to that would have been a bit of a disaster.
The team can use all the help they can get.

At least Crowley and Casey have come through as strong international standard players, with Nash and Daly very close.

Loughman, Ahern, Coombes, Hodnett look close enough too, but there's a lot of quality that's declining or heading out the door
