The Munster Rugby Thread 2019/20

When something like that happens (an IQ player isn't selected for Ireland) they should waive them filling a NIQ spot. It's no fault of of Munster or any other province if it were to happen to them.
This kind of situation is where we miss someone of Garrett Fitzgerald's standing.

Do not try and tell me that if Frisch was with Leinster he wouldn't have at least been in the training squad by now.

Apparently other countries have capped more Munster players than Ireland since the start of 2023

The Irish rugby writers are pretty pathetic tbh. Instead on ceaselessly cheerleading Farrell theyd want to be asking how hes let players such as Kleyn, Healy and now Frisch slip through our fingers.

The Leinster support are only laughing at us and already talking about signing Frisch.

Was listening to a bit of Off The Ball this morning, they were asking "when could they have given him a cap?"

Complete bullshit excuse. Farrell doesn't rotate the squad until he absolutely, positively has to. Leaves Ireland in a situation where there's no proven backup for Keenan at full back, while Mike Haley moulders in Munster.

Maybe Borthwick will give him a call up for the lolz...

4 years away from a World cup. can't risk it I'm afraid

It's a tricky situation. Munster falling victim of supporting Frisch in becoming an excellent player. The IRFU should help Munster giving an exception to keep both Frisch and Nankivelle. At least for 1 additional year to see if Frisch really makes a breakthrough into the French National team.

Only and and when a credible centre of Irish international standard become clear should it be reconsidered.

You'd forget none of this might be of any relevance if Chris Farrell was still a Munster player.

We're always being told Osborne at Leinster is international standard. Leo picks Ngatai ahead of him for big games all the time. Not a word from the media.

The Ireland Squad main tacklebag holder is leaving Leinster for Bath in the summer. If Kleyn even had his training squad spot SA wouldn't have looked.

The debacle with putting Keenan to the wing on Saturday shows that other options need to be looked at there.

The summer tour should be an opportunity to look at other players especially as the RWC squad need a breather. That should be time for Haley, Frisch, Hodnett etc to get a look

Instead he'll probably pick Stockdale, Prendergast and the likes or have a look at McCloskey again who'll be 34 next WC.

Haley has been pretty unlucky not to get more caps over recent years, he's been an absolute rock for Munster. Problem is, he turns 30 in June, he's too old to be developing as a full back now.

No doubt it'll turn out Hodnett has a Welsh granny or something...

Ciaran Frawley, Jack Crowley and Jimmy O'Brien are plenty options at full back, no need to test anyone else. Maybe send Rob Russell, Chris Cosgrave or Henry Mcerlean as a development player if you really must.
