At least two people would have known that young mother was pregnant and then no longer was. They now seem (through their lawyer) to accept they were the parents of baby john. They stayed quiet for 40 years. Are you seriously trying to tell us they both, independent of each other, decided to say nothing about the baby, in the hope that the other wouldn't say anything either. For 40 odd years!


You're writing a script of "no matter what happened the gardai and judicial system is always right" irrespective of what logic points to. That's precisely what was done back in the day to Joanne Hayes and her family and others. And what compounded the absolute disgrace that was the Kerry Baby's case.

I never said anything about the judiciary or guards always being right.

Just suggesting that rushing to judgement without possession of all the facts is maybe not the best option here.

The grandparent was a Garda wasn't he? Even more serious accusation to accuse him, even posthumously, of murdering his own grand-child as a 5 day old given the subsequent story concoction and cover up of the Gardai's Heavy Gang specially drafted in for the case.

Someone here accused kerry people of closing ranks - back then the Gardai wrote the book on closing ranks.

the Garda grandad was already dead in 1984, so even the Heavy Gang would have had a hard time pinning it on him.

Very violent crimes often don't have a motive that you or I might understand.

If it was pregnancy concealment, one stab would have been sufficient and there are easier and more humane ways of achieving that outcome.

PND wouldn't cause a mother to kill. Post natal psychosis might though.

No proof of a conspiracy to cover up as yet. You are writing a script of " garda family, so the guards covered it up" without possession of all the facts. Thats precisely what was done to Joanne Hayes back in the day!

If more than one person knew what happened and did not go the guards does that not count as a conspiracy?

We've previously seen what "possession of all the facts" constituted in this scandal. And if the facts were inconvenient some "facts" were fabricated. And then a judge was wheeled in and rubber stamped it all. They're the actual facts.

Whatever about the man and woman who only recently have come to the attention of gardai it is inescapable that Gardai 40 years ago coerced Joanna Heyes into a false admission of guilt and it subsequently got whitewashed.

It's a parallel but separate case to the hopefully soon to be resolved case of who actually killed Baby John.

Some young wan he's been doing the deed with in South Kerry is pregnant and then isn't; A newborn baby is found washed up on a nearby beach; And the media is FULL of Kerry Baby case - it was on TV, Radio, in the Newspapers, there was even a book written about it. But a judicial review found no wrongdoing by the gardai. Nothing to see here - move along

it was a full tribunal of enquiry rather than a judicial review.

The tribunal judge, Kevin Lynch, was from Fermoy.

You're jumping to conclusions. Guys sometimes get girls pregnant and know nothing about it. He might have been away in England or anything.
