The Hurling Thread

Sitting through the Sunday Game last night showed again the need to find a way to stretch or find more space in both championships.

The big problem is the football provincial championship. It's a total unnecessary chunk of games in a packed calender, who's importance has been totally diminished. Yet the games are competing with provincial hurling matches for eye balls and TV time, which actually are crucial games.

We should be aiming for alternating weekends for hurling and football.

Another great day for Munster hurling. It was mad, bad, crazy and a whole pile of other things. I'd say if you're a hurling supporter outside of Munster you must be unbelievably envious (while also loving the hurling of course).
So lads while we all get caught up in the analysis, moves, dirty strokes etc just make sure that more than anything else you enjoy it. This truly is a golden age of hurling and we are right in the thick of it.

John McGrath was unreal.
Tipp wouldn’t be an atheltic team but all good decent hurlers, John McGrath second goal was wonderful team play leading to it. Limerick are definitely there for the taking.
Thought that Tipp goal and Cork's wonder point down the wing were the apogee of an incredible weekend's hurling. The only gripe I'd have is the shoehorning of this fantastic sport into a few weeks when it needs and deserves so much more exposure. Some real clowns in charge.

I turned to the fella next to me (a Clare man) and said that was like something you'd see from Real Madrid. Even he agreed.
