This move appears to me that he is out to reverse the wrong (as he may see it) of last Sunday. That sounds ominous for the other hurling counties.. Limerick haven't gone away, you now know!

He would have decided it well before any result last weekend, career break has to be applied for by February, so win or lose he was taking the career break. Some people seem to think he only decided after the match last Sunday.
He's going working with Adare Manor on the Ryder Cup promotion. So obviously yes JP has given him a job but JP is shrewd, Kiely is a good public speaker with a decent profile so an ideal candidate for that role.
