Sorry, in a criminal trial you have to prove the assault happened beyond a reasonable doubt, which is very hard to do.

In a civil trial you only have to prove that on the balance of probability he did it. That's a significantly easier task.

I think most people would wager that McGregor is capable of rape. It's not a big climb from there to balance of probability..
