The Action Plan for Housing.

Screw him, he's only trying to protect his own vested interests, he can be alarmed all he wants, rent controls that are effective and stronger rights for tenants so they can feel secure in their homes are a societal good, it's not the fuction of government to do the bidding of corporate investors and their lobbyists.
Hang on.

We need private sector investment in all types of houses and apartments.

We also need State investment in all types housing and apartments etc.

Do you seriously believe that losing private investment and private landlords would help the delivery of homes to rent or buy seeing as the State cannot match that delivery or investment?

ML O Flynn on 96fm slating those who object to foreign investment in the housing industry, He says without funding
we are going nowhere, He said rent caps and rent pressure zones stop people from building as they feel they will
lose financially, Says he studied various countries and rent caps always end in drop in supply,

Investment funds only have one obligation and that’s to make a profit for it’s investors.

If you have a private pension then chances are a significant % will be in property.

If investment in property isn’t profitable the funds will just be diverted elsewhere.

Responsibility for funding property will then fall solely on the tax payer.

We can’t be part of international markets and then turn around and cherry-pick a huge part of the investment scene as being exempt from profit.

Imagine that, a man who started out his business back in the late 70's, did very well and is still working away.
A man who obviously knows his game inside out and all the idiots think he is only saying these things to line his own pocket.

He doesn't need anything to line his pocket, he has made his money.

Multimillionaire developer says something and advises while the unemployed wasters think he is lining his own pocket.

Plenty of houses been built as you head for whitegate just beyond the lakeview roundabout, Many of those who scream about a housing
crisis are very annoyed over the traffic,

You think that reasonable rent controls would cause all private landlords to flee?

Rent goes from the tenant into a MNC landlord, and disappears into the ether, that isn't good for any economy.

Non-profit rental bodies are a great replacement, Peabody in the UK are great, and use profits to build more houses, in a sustainable fashion, they aren't the only answer, but if they were brought in then the delta in rent prices would force rents down effectively.
