As far as I know UV bud, once it's in a public place it's legal.

I still think it's wrong to not seek permission. If you see a moment, take the picture then you should ask the subject if they object, if they do you should delete the photo.

When you play a match it's accepted that people will be watching and photos may be taken.
For example if someone in your family died and you're in floods of tears at the funeral do you think it would be acceptable for some no body to start snapping photos of you?

Not if kids are involved in the sport. Pictures or camcorders are only allowed if the clubs involved give their permission.
