The journalists reckon it would be hard to get the Monk to confirm the weather and he must be constantly wary of being under surveillance.

Dowdall comes across as a nauseating sycophant trying to impress the Monk.

Telling him who to kill, how to do it, when to do it.

Unless something damning comes out soon I can't see what the case is.

He said the 6 didn't know who the 6 were.

But he seems to say everything like he puts 'he heard' in front of it, and offering opinions as to "what he would do" if he was involved.

The Journalists were of the opinion that 10 hours with Dowdall would be punishment enough for alot of crimes

Presumably the judges in Green St.

Seems all a bit academic anyway when it's being reported word for word in the media what was said on the tapes anyway. IF, and it's a big if, the judges decide that it is inadmissible wonder what the legal status is of RTE reporting what they claim has been said on the tapes. Not sure how RTE have access to what has been said on the tapes tbh given that it's all going on in the Special Criminal Court and has yet to be decided as to whether or not it's admissible. One would've thought the courtroom would have been cleared while the judges were listening to the tapes and coming to a decision on the admissibility or otherwise of them.

REGENCY murder accused Gerard Hutch’s lawyer has asked the Special Criminal Court not to allow into evidence tapes of a conversation "The Monk" had with ex Sinn Fein councillor Jonathan Dowdall, claiming the pair were “illegally” bugged.

It was Dowdall the Guards were bugging. 400 hours of recording from his vehicle.

These recordings are before his house got raided (when the waterboarding clip was uncovered)

How was he on the Guards radar before this, as it was only by chance they managed to catch the Monk in his car.

He comes across as a bit of a Walter Mitty type. He'll be destroyed by the defence council.


Anyone else think that this prosecution looks doomed?

And Dowdall and his Da will be the only one with convictions for the Regency because they turned state witness and copped a plea.
